Co-chairing and co-sharing DSP’s expertise at the UK Oracle User Group…

DSP are proud to announce that two of our technology experts have been elected as co-chairs at two Oracle User Group SIGs. Dev Nayak and Jason Lester are not only experts in their field but they are both devoted to inform the user community of current and future capabilities of Oracle applications, databases and associated technologies.
DSP have been involved with Oracle and the UKOUG since 1991 and it is an honour receiving these posts as deputy chairs. It is a validation of the quality work DSP is doing with Oracle Technologies and UKOUG who provide a highly useful, essential and un-biased platform for Oracle users.
DSP often present, volunteer or facilitate the exchange of information and best practices between Oracle and the user community and these posts will allow DSP the opportunity to encourage even greater collaboration between individual specialists and across special interests groups.
Deputy Chair for the APPS DBA SIG – Jason Lester
Jason Lester is Head of Managed Services at DSP, prior to this role Jason was an experienced Oracle DBA and System Architect. He has over 10 years of experience across the Oracle stack. In the last 3-5 years Jason has spent a lot of time presenting and volunteering for the User Group, and sees them as an integral part of the role of a Principal DBA in today's fast moving world.
As Jason puts it: “I have seen the worst and the best of Oracle systems in the world, and as always you learn the most from the most challenging, which is why I think I have something really worth hearing on the subject.” -If his enthusiasm is anything to go by, there will be few disappointed members of his forthcoming audiences at the User Group SIG.

Deputy Chair for the RAC & HA SIG – Dev Nayak
Dev Nayak is the Service Technical Delivery Director at DSP. As an experienced architect and consultant in RAC and HA he advises numerous customers on best practices and solutions.
“I’ll not so much be speaking as sharing part of my life! I’ll be sharing my ‘What-not-to-do-list’, and how to get it right first time. Moreover, it’s also all part of DSP’s mission to make unplanned downtime history. You see, RAC is all about availability and that’s what DSP are all about, too- in fact we’ve just rebranded ourselves in order to more clearly articulate just that – our new corporate strap line is ‘Uptime. All the time.’ which pretty much says it all.”
Dev is a regular speaker for the UKOUG and has previously chaired the UNIX SIG in the UK.
