Upgrading a Data Warehouse to 11g to Improve Performance while Saving Money

For the last few years this customer has been running a data warehouse built on a series of integrated windows 32-bit, 10g databases. (At the time of inception, 64-bit Windows did not support Workflow or Data Warehouse Builder.) Inevitably, as their data has grown, the 32bit database has started to prove a significant performance bottleneck. By upgrading to 11gR2 with its integrated Data Warehouse Builder, Workflow engines and table partitioning, etc, they have experienced considerable improvements in performance, delivering a significant impact on the way they use their reporting facilities.

But as no upgrade is without its “moments”, this presentation will not only cover the business justifications for upgrading to the 11gR2 but also the things to watch out for – to make sure the transition in your business is as smooth and successful as possible.
